6.35mm and 1/4 Inch Shank Router Bits
6.35mm and 1/4 inch shank router bits are useful for compact routers, trim routers, light edge work and smaller decorative profiles. They are easy to handle and common in DIY woodworking, laminate trimming and light cabinet tasks.
Choose smaller shank bits for light cuts and smaller profiles. For large profiles, deep passes or heavy router table work, a larger shank is usually more stable if your router supports it.
To reduce vibration, insert the shank correctly, keep the collet clean and avoid forcing a small bit through a heavy cut in one pass.
