Slotting Cutters
Slotting cutters cut narrow grooves, splines, panel slots and joinery features in wood, MDF, plywood and cabinet parts. They are useful for frames, panels, fixtures and repeated groove work.
Choose by slot width, cutting diameter, arbor or shank fit, depth of cut and the material being machined. The finished slot should match the spline, panel or hardware that will fit into it.
Use stable workholding, make several passes when needed and clear chips so the cutter does not overheat inside the groove.
