TC9221 – 35mm Forstner Hinge Boring Bit for Woodworking

TC9221 is a 35 mm Forstner-style hinge boring bit for drilling clean, flat-bottomed cup holes in cabinet doors. Match the cutter to the hinge cup and the door material before machining production parts.

Before Drilling

Confirm the hinge manufacturer’s required cup diameter and depth, then set a reliable depth stop. Check the bit shank against the drill chuck or boring machine and test the setup on an offcut from the same door material.

Drilling Tips

Clamp the door securely, keep the tool square to the surface and clear chips during deeper bores. Stop short of the final depth until the hinge fit has been checked; breaking through a finished door cannot be reversed.
