TX8148 – Clear Bottom Router Bit (6mm Shank)
Price range: $3.88 through $21.21
High-precision clear bottom router bit with 6mm shank, ideal for smooth and clean bottom surface routing in woodworking projects. Available in multiple cutting diameters and a 6-piece set.
Clear-Bottom Router Bit — 6 mm Shank
Produce flat, clean bottoms for pockets, trays, dados and inlays with a durable clear-bottom (bottom-cleaning) bit.
Built from robust 45# steel and finished with a heat-resistant PTFE (Teflon) coating to reduce resin build-up and friction.
A sealed bearing (where applicable) helps track smoothly for consistent cuts in solid wood, MDF and plywood.
Recommended spindle speed: 18,000–24,000 RPM; feed rate: 8–12 m/min (~26–39 ft/min).
Features
- Heat-resistant PTFE (Teflon) coating reduces pitch and resin build-up
- ±0.003″ manufacturing tolerance (≈ ±0.08 mm) for consistent accuracy
- Sealed, pre-lubricated bearing (where applicable) for smoother tracking
- Robust 45# steel body for stability and long service life
- Flat-bottom finish with minimal tooling marks on wood and composites
